This device mounts with a simple magnet and can be moved from one vehicle to another without issue. Just don't forget that it should not be plugged in without being mounted to something as it could damage the device.
And...
If you have a large enough, flat iron or steel surface it could easily be moved since it has built in magnets to attach with. On a vehicle I would recommend something in addition to the magnets to make sure it stays secure since there's a lot of bouncing around and vibration involved. If you mounted it to an oil pan it is usually pretty thin material which makes the magnets less effective.
